Joy2theWorld.org (EIN# 26-3529726) officially filed for NGO status in Ghana, West Africa, for social welfare projects and is now the umbrella organization for Joy2theWorld, Inc. and Joy2theWorld International Christian Academy.
Joy2theWorld, Inc., the first branch of Joy2theWorld.org, began as a microloan program in 2007, providing more than 1,000 micro loans to over 350 women as well as business coaching to women clients.
Joy2theWorld now aims to empower the children of rural Ghana through education. Likewise, Joy2theWorld empowers its teachers, staff and volunteers to be leaders of integrity, compassion and wisdom. Joy2theWorld addresses issues of education, environment and social welfare in Ghana, particularly as it affects children.
Joy2theWorld International Christian Academy, the second branch of our organization, began when our microloan clients expressed the need for a school for their children. Thus, in September of 2013, Joy2theWorld International Christian Academy opened its doors in Medie, Ghana, pledging to providing an excellent and Christ-centered education to the “brilliant but needy” in the community.
We aim to foster growth and development through a rigorous Christian academic environment. We aim to inspire active and creative minds through a challenging learning environment and promote values of compassion, courage, respect and leadership through teamwork and global participation.
We offer classes in Science, English, ICT, Language (such as French), Math, and other subjects, teaching exclusively in English.
Our students regularly participate in math, essay, and spelling competitions and are rewarded for winning. In addition, we encourage learning outside the classroom through our field-trip excursions to places such as the Orthopedic Training Center, Kotoka Airport in Accra, and the University of Ghana Library, with new places being added to our list frequently!
In order to financially support our ministry, we pair generous donors to students in significant financial need through our sponsorship program. Sponsors give a student an opportunity to learn who might not be able to receive an education otherwise.
We also heavily encourage our students to attend university and have even created a “Money Management” program that adds money to the student’s “college fund” each day they meet certain requirements (attendance, punctuality, excellent behavior…)
We are grateful to God for the opportunity to teach all of our bright students and to encourage them to pursue excellence through education.
We grow every year and can see the impact Jesus is making through us every day.
Thank you to our sponsors for helping us to be the hands and feet of Christ in Medie, Ghana!
